PATIENT CARE, SAFETY AND COMFORT

All patients, who get healthcare services in medical centers and facilities of Medicana Health Group, are provided with uniform care in line with the scientific rules in order to ensure safety and satisfaction of the patient at all stages of the patient care. Patient safety, patient orientation, efficiency, appropriateness, sustainability, time and equity constitute the basis of our patient care processes.

Within scope of the patient safety;

All processes, including drugs, are efficiently managed and patient-related risks are minimized. A team is responsible for drug management in all hospitals and centers and drug management processes are assessed in meetings held at quarter intervals.

Services offered to prevent infections and department-related risks are determined and measures are taken in line with the scientific rules and national regulations in effect. The risk of infection is minimized by providing patients with optimal service. A team is responsible for the infection control in all hospitals and centers and the infection control processes are assessed in meetings held at quarter intervals.

Measures are taken to reduce radiation exposures due to delivery of healthcare services. A team is responsible for the radiation safety in all hospitals and centers and radiation safety processes are assessed in meetings held at quarter intervals.

Patients are identified using identity cards and patient identification parameters in all processes ranging from admission to hospitals and centers of Medicana Health Group for diagnosis and treatment to the discharge of the patient.

All medical procedures are carried out in accordance with patient safety solutions determined by World Health Organization and universal protocols in order to increase safety and decrease deaths and complications.

All rooms are designed in single room configuration in all hospitals and centers of Medicana Health Group in order to maximize the patient comfort. In some facilities, double rooms are available that are designed to protect and maintain privacy of patients. Considering the right of having a companion, arrangements are also made to make companions feel comfortable in patient rooms.

Based on principles of patient oriented approach, equity, appropriateness, timeliness and continuity, access of all patients (including patients with foreign nationality) to services is facilitated and access to services in a timely, efficient and sufficient manner is ensured, also considering the patient population.

Within scope of access to services;

Admission, reception, information and guidance services are available in all hospitals and centers of Medicana Health Group in order to facilitate access to services.

Measures are taken to minimize waiting times at outpatient settings. Patients are informed in advance about the waiting time and the time interval of the examination.

Timelines are determined for scheduling appointments for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment and for reporting test results. Patients and/or families are informed about appointments and times required to report test results.  Delays in scheduling appointments and reporting test results are analyzed at monthly intervals in hospitals and centers of Medicana Health Group and preventive and corrective activities are started.

Elderly and disabled patients are prioritized in access to services, including seats at outpatient clinics and prioritization in examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
