Patients will be offered a Holistic Service Approach

Within a framework of international standards for bone marrow transplantation; patients will be treated holistically, addressing all their health needs. The Center, equipped with a modern Transplantation Immunology Laboratory, will be able to provide bone marrow transplantation for patients with blood disorders such as Multiple Myeloma (malignant bone marrow disorder originating from plasma cells), lymphoma (hematologic lymph node cancer), acute leukemia and chronic leukemia as well as aplastic anemia.

An Internationally Distinguished Team in Bone Marrow Transplantation

The bone marrow transplantation center of Medicana International Istanbul Hospital will be led by Prof. Yener Koç, M.D. who has a distinguished career in bone marrow transplantation and stem cell therapies.

Professor Yener Koç, M.D., has authored 225 papers that have been cited for 2579 times and he is also a peer reviewer in both local and international hematology and oncology journals.

Being awarded the “Doctor of the Year” by Boston University twice in 1995 and 1996, Prof. Yener Koç, M.D., has been granted a special visa (for individuals with extraordinary ability or achievement) by the U.S. government in 1997 and he has been working actively for the Joint Accreditation Committee ISCT-Europe & EBMT (JACIE) since 2004 in his capacity as a European Bone Marrow Accreditation Inspector. Prof. Yener Koç, M.D., who was awarded the “International Bone Marrow Transplant Professional of The Year” in 2007, was also listed in Who’s Who Science and Engineering Encyclopedia, where distinguished scientists in the world are introduced, in 2016.

He is a member of American Society of Hematology (ASH), American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (ASBMT), and European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT).
