Otoplasty can be performed on anyone who is not satisfied with the shape of their ear. What are prominent ear surgery techniques (Otoplasty), complications, and follow-up

The otoplasty surgery technique is performed under general anesthesia. The average operation time varies between 1-2 hours. An incision is made behind the ear, and the desired shape of the ear is made with some suture techniques. Cartilage excision is performed if necessary, depending on the case's condition, and a natural aesthetic ear is tried to be obtained.
Postoperatively, the incision behind the ear is closed with sutures. Since it is behind the ear, there may be an inconspicuous scar that does not disturb.
If the dressings are sterile during and after the operation, no signs of infection are encountered. When the sutures used for the patient are suitable and of high quality, no ear opening, otapostasis, or deformity is seen. When reasonable perioperative bleeding control and postoperative good dressing and follow-up are performed, hematoma (blood accumulation) is not observed.
After the surgery, dressing and control were done every other day for the last ten days. On the tenth day, after the stitches are removed, the patient can return to his daily social life, except it is advised to sleep with an elastic head bandage only at night.
